Last weekend we went to visit Matt's family on their farm. It's about 15 minutes from the lovely, eccentric little town of Daylesford.
Set in the hills (a nice change from the rest of this flat state) it has an old fashioned charm. Daylesford is a progressive place, the gay capital of Victoria. There are diverse people around, a welcome change from your typical Aussie-country-town.

Ask me why I've only been to D-ford like three times? I can't tell you. Well, I can. We are usually 15 minutes down the road visiting with relatives and it seems too indulgent to escape to this cute, little town when we should be catching up with family.
For our latest visit, I suggested to Matt that we drop Lavinia with her grandparents so he and I could have a lunch date alone. I really hope we can make it a regular thing. Lavinia gets some alone time with her Nana and Pa, Mommy and Daddy get a break. Win-win if you ask me. And it only takes him away from his parents for a few hours.
It was both relaxing and stimulating to wander the streets, peep into the art galleries, antique shops and people-watch.
We stumbled upon a new-ish American restaurant called The Galley Diner where they serve Anchor Steam (one of my fav beers of all time) too bad they were all sold-out. Yet another reason to head back?

Gah! I've never been to Daylesford but it's on my list! I've heard so many good things and now I've seen some very cute photos. Lovely post, Dawn 🙂
Thank you! My Photos don't even do it justice. It's a gorgeous place with such a cool vibe. Definitely check it out sometime. x
