Apple Pear Sauce With Vanilla And Ginger

Simple, tasty, sugar-free apple/ pear sauce with surprising ginger and vanilla notes that give it a bit of zing. It's great for kiddos if you don't want to feed them the processed stuff.

 45 Apples
 45 Pears
 1 cup Water
 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract or one fresh vanilla bean split
 1 tsp Cinnamon
 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger (grated)

Peel and dice apples and pears.

Grate ginger.

Add everything to a slow cooker or crockpot and cook on low or high depending on how much time you have (either way it will yield similar results).

Mash everything with a potato masher to desired consistency. I like mine chunky. You can serve it with yoghurt and Museli, on its own, or with ice cream for dessert!
