Let’s face it, adulting is tough. Maybe I’m just speaking for me but between parenting, shopping, cooking, cleaning, running a business, exercising, laundry, finding time for the hubs- it leaves me little time for myself.
Now that I’m pregnant with number two I’m absolutely wrecked and finding it daunting just to do the basics. Well, last Thursday I got a special treat. A prenatal massage without even leaving my house. Score!
The folks at Blys (pronounced Bliss) have started a roving massage service in Sydney and Melbourne and have graciously offered to give me a trial in exchange for a review. I was all, “Hell yes! Please, and thank you.”

Mental And Physical Health Benefits
Massages feel amazing, as you know, but they offer heaps of health benefits too. I’ve gotten massages in the past that have helped elevate my mood and once I even burst into tears of relief after a particularly good one. I feel like we haven’t even scratched the surface of learning what massage and human touch can do for our emotional health and wellbeing.
After dropping the kiddo off at childcare, I received a text from Blys letting me know my therapist is en route. How cool is that? I’m all about convenience these days.
I’d say the main advantage of the Blys service is that you can book online or even on their mobile app. It’s pre-paid, you can request any type of massage you like, and choose from a male or female therapist. They will come to your home, office or hotel 7 days a week from 8am-midnight. (This would also make an awesome gift for any occasion and you can buy gift certificates on their website.) You can have a massage therapist on your doorstep in as quick as one hour. Some people are describing it as “Uber for massage.” Sweet. Now if only Uber Eats would cover my suburb, I’d never leave the house again.

My therapist was on-time, friendly and warm. She set up in my living room, I laid down, closed my eyes, and blissed out for an hour. My muscles felt relaxed afterward and I had the best night’s sleep in weeks that evening. Worth it on sooooo many levels.
The Blys website is really easy to navigate so I would encourage you to take a look. They explain everything and even pepper their descriptions with a sense of humour; “To avoid any doubt; we do not offer any sexual massages.” Just in case you were wondering.
